Life with Olivia

Oh no! I’ve got to catch up!

The photo prompt word on Friday was chew and I couldn’t think of anything! Now I can’t even remember what we did on Friday!
I remember on Saturday it was mum’s birthday and I made her a cup of tea then I went on a day out with Guides. We went on an adventure zone day and did so many things! We did apple bobbing, toasting marshmallows, made dampers and cooked them, made a tent, sign language and whistle communication, peeling potatoes, writing with a pen in your mouth or holding it with your toes, singing round the campfire….I can’t remember the rest! Then Adam stayed home with me when mum went out with her friend in the evening.
Yesterday was my friends birthday party but his birthday’s really today. We got the train to Totnes and then got picked up to drive up to Dartmoor to meet everyone else. It was really, really brilliant and fun! We all had a picnic and some of us went paddling and swimming in the river. I had a go on a mountain board which was so much fun. Some other boys there let me and my friends borrow their inflatable boat too. We played pass the parcel and there were loads of bubbles. One of our little friends climbed a tree for the very first time and her mum asked me to take a photo of her!

Up a tree!

I got to catch up with some of the photo prompts too!
The first one is chew which is the one that I got stuck on! At the end of the party when we were packing up to go we saw two little ponies with their mums. They were so cute!

Chew

The next one is Self Portrait Saturday which I did today after mum showed me how to use the timer. It took a bit of practice!

First try

Nearly there!

But I finally got it right!

Me!!

For Show Off Sunday I took a photo of the pebbles that light up in the city centre at night. They keep changing colour but this is my favourite colour!

Purple Pebble!

Today’s word is fall so I took a photo of a rose that has lost most of it’s petals!

Fall

I’ve caught up with everything now! I’m going to go and help mum make a cake for a strawberry trifle. It’s my favourite!

  6. You have been a busy young lady. love the ponies - I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for them. You did a wonderful photo of the friend in the tree. Your self-portrait is excellent. Good to see how you look. I’m going to have to practice the timer soon. I can’t fudge on the SPS much longer.

  7. great photos Olivia, the little tree girl is lovely - I bet her mum wants a copy. well done with SPS, I haven’t figured out focussing and using the self timer so have used a compact that I can hold at arms length for the last couple of weeks!

  15. Hi Olivia :)

Thanks for leaving me a get well message it really lifted my spirits :) Not posting today but maybe tomorrow.

So you are playing catch up? I think I’ll just start again  then I won’t have to do my self portrait

Love your fall photo. Seems so sad when flowers lose their petals :( And the purple pebble? These sound very pretty. Are they are on walls in town? I can’t recall ever seeing anything like them before.

Laughed out loud at your antics with the self timer. That’s a really good photo of you. The colours are excellent.

And those foals are just adorable.

    Phew you have been busy.

When I was about 10, maybe 11, in the late 1960’s I lived in Plymouth with my Grandparents. Every so often an Aunt or Uncle would take us all out on a Sunday to Dartmoor to see the ponies. I can just remember it. It was a real treat as in those days cars were more of a luxury so I didn’t get to go in one that often. I can remember the ponies but above all I remember the ice lolly that my Gran always bought me :) Another treat :)

Well Olivia, both my children have now returned to school and the house is so quiet without them. Sarah was rushing about as usual so I didn’t get a photo of her but Joshua had plenty of time to spare so he did his best to pose for me whilst still trying to look cool :) Going to download them now.

See you soon. . . Bye for now. . . Sue

  19. Miss Olivia!! You and me both have been SO busy lately! I miss your pics, and I miss posting mine! My birthday was saturday, and my friend gave me a whole pack of batteries for my camera, so hopefully I’ll find some time in the next few days to take some shots. I have the perfect thing for ‘hang’, and can’t wait to choose something for quirky. I could always just take one of myself! I’ll try to post more regularly if you do! How are you coming on those ATC’s? Bet you haven’t even thought about them, like I haven’t!
